Musical Biography
Music has been with me my entire life. From the age of 5 I have been on and off the stage. At the age of 7, I auditioned to be in the production of ‘Annie’ for Redcar and Cleveland operatic society. I landed the part of Mollie and I was star struck. Since then it was my ambition to become a performer. Being brought up with a range of different genres and artists including Madonna, Gloria Estefan and every reggae band you could think of I was always singing and dancing.
When I left school at 16, I attended Middlesbrough College and studied Music practice. During my time in further education I received my Distinction in Grade 8 vocals and Music Theory. I performed in various charity fundraising events in the UK and abroad learning the ins and outs of a working musician. After passing I went onto Teesside University and did my Bachelors degree with Honours in Performance and Events production.
After graduating I became a founding member of ‘LIVE INJECTION’- a reggae, ska and soul/Motown cover band from the Teesside area. As the lead vocalist of Live Injection I have been proud to perform beside huge reggae and Ska legends such as Toots and the Maytals, The Selector, Bad Manners, The Toasters, The Beat and Neville Staples band- originally from the Specials. I’ve got to perform all over the UK and Ireland and for weddings and corporate events for big names including the PM David Cameron. I am still a proud member of the group today and still play various gigs across the country.
In 2014 I auditioned and joined ‘MANIC MONDAY’ – 80s tribute show. Manic Monday continues to be another amazing venture which I’m proud to be a part of. Being with the ‘MANICS’ has given me the opportunity to take on my Madonna project. Surrounded by great friends and colleagues, the next step in my musical journey is the most exciting yet.
